The Problem
A drastic change has been experienced in the last 250 – 300 years as reflected in Earth’s environment and nature. As per the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), level of the three main greenhouse gases has reached a new record high in 2021. It has already been highlighted that in current situation, climate change could end up costing us upto 11% to 14% of the global GDP by midcentury. This is all due to the constant interference of the human being with nature. Having such an alarming situation, the big question is – What collective action is required to mitigate and adapt to climate change- and to ensure lands can still be cultivated, crops can still grow, and water supply is still sufficient.
The Opportunity
The UN Decade (2021 – 2030) on Ecosystem Restoration is a rallying call for the protection and revival of ecosystems all around the world, for the benefit of people and nature as the healthy ecosystems is the only way that can enhance people’s livelihoods, counteract climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity.
EcoPrism Collective Foundation will collectively contribute towards building healthy ecosystems that can enhance people’s livelihood, counteract climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity.
